As regulation catches up with custom and practice and the pressure to reduce carbon emissions becomes encapsulated in statutory requirements the "energy assessor" is entering the field. We are acquiring the necessary accreditations to provide this service.

We are currently able to provide DEC's (display energy certificates that show the actual energy performance of a building)

These are now in their second year and - although currently limited in application - voluntary display is being encouraged, and there are proposals to extend the requirement.
Surveying air-conditioning (and other) installations has been a significant element of Jassoc work in recent years. We currently do this to the more thorough requirements of TM 44 - but applaud the introduction of statutory inspections and are in the process of extending our accreditation (currently provisional) to include them.

EPC's (Energy performance certificates) are not currently within our remit since they less relevant to the operation of existing buildings - but we have the relevant expertise and software and are considering our options - watch this space.
