Energy Surveys - detailed investigation by experienced staff using advanced loggers to measure where energy is consumed - and what should be targeted for improvement.
We will look for energy paths through the building, find who the significant users are and discuss what can be done about it.
While it is possible to predict a buildings performance using published benchmarks and calculation, practice rarely coincides with theory and permanent metering rarely gives sufficient detail to identify anomalies.
By bringing loggers to site, we can check actual flows against benchmarks and flag up potential savings for more detailed investigation.
Our loggers record consumption against time, allowing us to investigate electrical and other flows in depth. We would expect to identify consumption profiles - producing Sankey diagrams for clarity and action plans for discussion.
Our approach is based on Cibse guide F - supplemented by relevant publications from the Carbon Trust.
