Metering strategies - effective sub-metering to provide useful information on the energy consumption of significant users. Turning survey findings to advantage.
Our energy survey's use loggers to identify significant consumers - but they are temporary. For an on-going record of consumption, permanent sub-metering is required.
We will identify an appropriate strategy, taylor this to your own needs and suggest practical ways it might be achieved.
In some instances the Building management system can provide an answer, in others simple kWhr meters and a clip board - but if a building operator wishes to monitor consumption then - somehow - he must measure it. For that to be effective the strategy must take the building distribution "as is", collect the information needed and present it in a form that is useful.
Easier said than done.
Our approach is based on Cibse TM 39 - but highly dependant on what is required for effective management at a specific site.
Ideally each manager will have an energy budget to meet - and a regular report to tell him how he is doing. The correct metering strategy will provide the information for that report.
